SELENA HELPS CHILDREN

Selena is the youngest-ever UNICEF ambassador. As a UNICEF ambassador, Selena uses her star power to raise money. She also helps spread the charity’s message to her fans. UNICEF helps needy children in over 150 countries. The charity provides doctors, clean drinking water, food, and schooling.

UNICEF relies on generous donations. Their biggest fund-raiser happens on Halloween. UNICEF gives thousands of tiny cardboard cartons to trick-or-treaters. Children collect coins for the cause from neighbors and friends. “For American children and parents, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF offers an impactful way to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children,” Selena said on the UNICEF Web site.

Selena has been involved with UNICEF for three years. She has even gone to Africa to see how the organization helps children. Selena has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the charity.

She took part in MTV’s Hope for Haiti telethon and helped raise $65 million. The funds were split between UNICEF and other organizations. She often tweets about the cause and attends press events to spread the word. What’s more, she donated the dress she wore in her “A Year Without Rain” music video to their charity auction. She donated proceeds from a concert and meet-and-greet to the cause.
